Sam is thrilled to sing as the featured baritone soloist in Theodore Dubois' most well-known work, The Seven Last Words of Christ. The oratorio sets to music a traditional collection of short phrases uttered by Jesus at his crucifixion immediately before he died, gathered from the four Gospels. This Good Friday performance will take place at The Roman Catholic Church of The Holy Innocents, a spiritual oasis in the heart of mid-town Manhattan.
Sam is very excited to join the Cornerstone Chorale as an assistant conductor for their upcoming Fall project, Reflections on Nature, featuring the music of Brahms, Monteverdi, Holst, Schumann, Whitacre, Ticheli, and others. The chorale, founded in 1990 in Washington Heights, performs a wide array of full-length concerts under its current Music Director, Rich Stout, and serves as the Ensemble in Residence at Holyrood Church in Washington Heights.
Lord & Taylor will unveil its world-renowned holiday windows to New York City on Thursday, November 12 with an event in partnership with Habitat For Humanity New York City, and with a performance by singer-songwriter Austin Mahone. This unveiling marks the 78th year that the flagship Fifth Avenue store has created animated, non-commercial holiday windows-originally, and still to this day, considered by the company to be a gift to the city. Sam will sing as part of a quartet of carolers who will the open the ceremony at 5:30pm!
Come enjoy an eclectic concert of Leonard Bernstein’s beautiful and clever lesser-known works, including pieces from his sole opera "A Quiet Place," featuring a group of New York City's brightest talent.
Sam returns for his third consecutive year as Music Director of Lamp Camp, a youth drama camp produced by the Lamplighters Community Theatre in Minnesota. Lamp Camp is designed specifically for students ages 7-18, and provides instruction in improv theater, singing, and dance.

Shinju: A Japanese Fantasy Opera features origami-like, collapsible sets and Heian era inspired costumes in a musical drama reminiscent of Puccini operas and Ghibli films. The opera's reusable, collapsible staging allows the opera to be performed in unconventional spaces. Expanding the accessibility of opera to new audiences and venues by interpreting the opera form in a vibrant way accessible to today's youth, Shinju shares traditional Japanese cultural narratives around nature, drawing critical connections between our world today and the wisdom of traditional Japanese culture and sensibilities.
